ARRIVING IN VENICE FOR MY BIRTHDAY

HOW I CELEBRATED MY BIRTHDAY IN ITALY

Hello everyone! Another story about my favorite trip through Italy. The second day of the journey, fabulous day, because it is my birthday. And the best way to celebrate, from my point of view, is to eat well, smile, and hit to road to Venice! In this story, I am taking you to shop in Ponte di Piave, then to Venice for breakfast and my birthday celebration dinner. Furthermore, you will see my complications on the road from Ponte di Piave to Venice, just as a reminder not to relax while I am on the road.

Morning in Ponte di Piave

The sun was shining outside, and I slept well. I wonder if the motorbike is still in front of the hotel. I overheard a story about stealing a motorcycle, so I hoped that would not happen to me.

It’s seven o’clock in the morning. I feel a great deal of happiness, my mind is clear, and my body and emotions are eager for action. What could I do before I head to Venice? Hmm, the town is small, I have already visited the center, and I would not even stay in the place for a long time because I am impatient as always in my life, to see something new, in this case, Venice.

I also received a recommendation to visit the largest shopping center in the region (Designer Outlet Noventa di Piave). I thought it was the ideal place to buy myself a birthday present before heading to Venice. I’m not a shopaholic, but I like to explore my style and buy some good clothes from time to time. First of all, I want quality materials. Not only do they look good, but they also do not irritate the skin. Thinking about great shopping and tidying up.

Birthday breakfast in Noventa Hotel

I got hungry. I went to breakfast, and mmmm smells like coffee, cheese, cakes, fruit, milk, etc. I am a big foodie, and I enjoy good food wherever I go. And just a croissant! Very inspiring scents evoke beautiful emotions. Breakfast is everything you could want. Delicious, served in a lovely space with excellent music. I believe it’s some classic-jazz compilation. Ideal!

After breakfast, I went to pack. Yes, I’ll pack every two days, and it’s not fun to put things in a suitcase and vice versa. Sometimes I load wrongly, and I cannot close the suitcase and tank bag I brought. Before I set off, I determined how to pack so I don’t get into that situation packing. I also ensured that the things I used more often were at the very top of the suitcase not to mix everything up and create chaos. However, I brought a backpack so that I could put something to buy along the way. I also used the rucksack for things I always needed, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, phone chargers, T-shirts and socks for changing in an emergency, a light jacket, etc.

I packed up, and the check-out passed quickly. I got on the bike and headed to the mall.

Shopping in Noventa di Piave

The shopping center is quite large. You can spend half a day shopping, eating, and having a coffee if you have enough money and time.

Pure ART

I have to admit that I was not too fond of many creators, but some are amazing, talented people with creative minds. I thought some of those clothing pieces were pure art.

The good thing is that you can always find quality clothes and shoes quite affordable and in one place. I found a great leather jacket in the “Levis” and shoes in the Italian style’ name’.

I stayed a bit. It’s a big outlet and many top designers in one place. But I can also find some interesting pieces that are unique and VERY unique. At times I like fashion, especially when I dream of some imaginative creations.

Fashion I love

Let’s say I like the work of Mc Queen or Moschino. It is truly inspiring. I want to try it once. When I think about an everyday outfit, the closest to my taste is Chanel style or Dior. Or, if I am in the mood to wear colors and feel free, I think Hermes would be the best choice. That is how I feel about that.

Too much thinking about designs and fashion. Now it is time to go. Venice is waiting for me. I packed everything and let’s go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trouble on the road

I think it took me about 40 minutes to get there. I missed the exit. I was distracted watching the road, Italian cypresses, my thoughts were in a fantasy world, that I get off the highway when I needed to. I found myself on a toll that I had to go through, and I couldn’t go back.

So I passed the toll and paid 65 euros! And then I made a half-circle and came back and paid the same amount again. Ah, a nightmare! To be left without 130 euros just because I’m foolish and because I was daydreaming on the away. When I hear a voice saying ‘I have to pay 65 euros. I thought there was no way I would pay for it. There must be a way to sort out this problem. Of course, I am neither the first nor the last. It looks like these situations happen all the time.

As soon as I called for help, they sent me to the department, next to the toll station, to solve the problem. It was hot outside. I was in the suit, waiting in the line which was quite long, I thought I would melt. And finally, when it was my turn, the older guy smiled at me. He was cheerful, willing to solve the problem, but didn’t know English and me even less Italian. Luckily, there was a young man who managed to translate, and he solved my case 🙂 I went back on the road, and this time I did not miss the exit but reached the accommodation.

My accommodation in Venice

Hotel “Nice” is a beautiful big house, turned into a small hotel. An older man, a biker, made this house as a modest hotel, sweet as candy. When I saw the garage with his engines, I was thrilled. I thought that I had found the perfect place for me. Overjoyed that I booked a room with him, I went to bed for five minutes to rest a bit, stretch my legs and tell my family that I was good and ready to explore Venice :). I took a shower, and I headed towards the city center.

At the very entrance to Venice, I could park a motorcycle, free of charge, 24 hours a day. I don’t believe that anyone broke or stole motorcycles there because that part of the city is full of police officers and traffic.

Ideal for motorcyclists as it is not possible to go through the town by vehicle. That is my highly recommended place if you want to park your bike for an extended period.

The city is charming. Those moments while I am walking are pleasing. Buildings are colorful and old, and people look like they have all the time in the world, so relaxed, smiling, and having fun. The atmosphere was fantastic. Here are a few photos 🙂

Of course, there’s “Gelato Alla Fragola,” the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten. That cream that melts and the freshness that strawberries give mmmm. I have to tell you that I rarely eat ice cream, but you can offer me this one every day.

Considering its August, I expected it to be more crowded, which I like. As for cafes and restaurants, it reminds me a bit of French style. The tables are outside, and people pass by you as you eat, watching you, and I guess that’s normal. At first, it seemed strange to me, but not in a positive way. Imagine, as you eat, someone passes by and looks at you, at your plate. However, after a while, you realize that it is a tradition and maybe it is okay. On the contrary, I start to like it. That’s also a way to meet new people.

The walk continues, and I start remembering some feelings I have built in the last twenty years. Whether I’m sad, happy, calm, or empty, some thoughts go through my head. Does it have anything to do with the birthday, with the questions I often ask myself around my birthday, New Year’s holidays, and all the big holidays? Seemingly that is normal, and I am not the only one.

My special birthday night

I spent the day touring all possible streets because they were interesting to me. But it was not so attractive when it came to cleanliness. I thought I was alone, and it was my birthday. I always celebrate my birthday with my family or friends. I did not have a plan, so I decided to decide along the way.

While I was wandering around, I got hungry. I wanted to pick the place on the water because it’s my favorite setting for the restaurant. I found one that drew my attention. It is restaurant ‘La Calcina Hotel & Restorante’.

I made a good choice. The gnocchi was delicious and wine divine. I choose white wine with gnocchi but I prefer red wine in general. I love dry, well-balanced full-body red wine with a lot of tannins. I believe one of my favorite ones is Barolo wine.

Endwise, I didn’t feel alone. All my friends called me while I was having dinner. I was over the moon. I got a lot of phone calls over Skype from mom, my sister, my dad. It was a bit uncomfortable feeling because I was in the restaurant, but it was my birthday. I relish emotions.

Concert for good night

Night fell, and it was time to go back for the bike and go to sleep. Hmm, all the alleys were similar, and if they didn’t look like that, I managed to get lost. My phone stuck, so my map had some weird trajectories. After getting lost in Venice, I came across a concert taking place in an ancient church. It was the magical sound of the organ, which always produces unreal music.

After an hour at the concert, I got tired and set off hoping to find my bike. And unbelievably, I found it very quickly. I head to the hotel, overjoyed. I took a quick shower and fell asleep within seconds.

Next time I will take you through Venice, through Venetian museums and galleries. You will see how I experienced this city and what fascinated me. Additionally, I will recommend the top 5 attractions to visit in Venice. Although it was an incredible day with lots of sightseeing, a good walkthrough small Venice streets, and fascinating architecture, it will be even more exciting tomorrow. I will explore more and show you some secret spots, less known places in Venice. Stay with me and see you next week.
