Shopping, Market, and Family Time

It is our first day after the long flight from New Zealand. I expected to be jetlag, but I felt fine. Also, I was sleeping quite a bit on the airplane. Now it is time to enjoy family time. How do you like to spend your free time with your family? We love to be relaxed, go to the local market and shop.

If you haven’t read my previous post or did not watch the video, here is some information you need to know. My partner (Axel) and I get a trip with our two and a half years old daughter from New Zealand to Europe, after four years, to see family.

After a long flight (35+ hours) and 4 hours of drive from Paris Airport to Saint Nazaire, we can finally rest.

I feel good and happy. The first day in Saint Nazaire should be relaxing and dedicated to bonding between Sophie (my daughter) and her grandmother from France. The best way to do it is to go shopping, visit a local market, and have lunch together as a family.

Small market but with good products. Everything is in one place. You can find all kinds of seasonal vegetables and fruits on the right side. Then you can find some crepes and galettes, a prevalent old type of food in France. Then, there are plenty of cheeses and cured meat. One of my favorites is saucisson.

On the left side, there is some clothes and mattress for beds, which I did not expect to see in the market like this. And, behind, we could go to the grocery and bakery. This is enough to grab a few things for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Family Shopping Essentials in Saint Nazaire

We realized that Sophie needed some shoes for the beach, so we went to Decathlon to purchase what we needed for her and some flip-flops for us. This is a fun time when you are not stressed and need to shop for just a few things. That is the perfect time to chat and try introducing Sophie to her grandmother. That way, they can have fun and enjoy time together.

Family Breakfast

French Galettes are so tasty. They are made from spelled flour and water, and most of the time, they have savored dishes. It is essential to eat it fresh and warm. My favorite is with goat cheese, dried tomato, walnuts, and honey, with a rocket salad on the top.

The day was great and relaxing, with a beautiful breakfast and an even better dessert. Yes, you read it correctly, breakfast dessert. When I want to eat something special, I do not care if it is morning, lunch, or an excellent time to eat. I just it what I want and when I feel for it.

One of my favorite desserts is ‘Tarte fraise,’ or tart with strawberries. Every time I see this tart, I buy it 😊.

Family Time

When it is about family time, we chatted, played, walked, and ate for the whole day. That is how we like to spend our family day. Of course, we want to do all other staff which you will be able to read in a few next blog posts, but today was all about relaxing and bonding.
