Depends where you are in France, or if you are in some other country, you can organize your activities with your kids. Actually, I never organize my time according to Sophie’s needs. She loves to be with us and explore the surroundings wherever she is.
Axel and I decide where we want to go and Sophie just adapts to our decision. However, when we plan our activities with the kid, we always adjust our plan a bit. E.g. we went shopping to buy a few things for me and some presents for Axel’s cousin’s party. On our way, of course, we stopped at the playground where Sophie played for 15-20 minutes.
Or, because we are in Saint Nazaire, France, there is an animal farm. I love animals, but that was a planned activity for Sophie more than for us.
Shopping with the kid in France
For some people shopping is boring and for some very attractive activities. I love to go shopping with Sophie just because she makes it more fun. When I change clothes to see do I like them, she looks at me and what am I doing😊 . Or she starts bringing more clothes.
Also, whenever we go shopping with her, we have our ritual, and that is ice cream time or lollypop time.
If there is some playground nearby, we definitely visit it. While she plays we can rest a bit and gather our thoughts. I love to imagine things or think about things I want to do, or when we were in Saint Nazaire, I was planning where to go. I just love that kind of thing.
Of course what kind of shopping with the kid if we do not buy toys and kids’ clothes? I must say that the French are good at that. It is a bit pricy but it is worth it. Besides some clothe for Sophie and a few toys for her and her cousins, we bought her a cube with stories and song in French language, so she can learn it easier why she plays.
Depending on how you shake the cubic you can turn it on and off, increase the volume of music, or choose whether are you going to listen to the music or a story.
Beach as a #1 activity for a kid
As I mentioned before, depending on where you are in France, or any other country, plan your activities with the resources you have. Saint Nazaire, where we are at the moment is on the coast, and that brings more opportunities for activities with a kid.
While our kid had some fun in the sand and the beach playground, we had a chance to talk to Axel’s mom, relax, and enjoy the view of the sea.
Animal Farm is a very important activity for kids
Animals are great to engage kids. Sophie, even when she is afraid of an animal she likes them. There is a lot of research that animal presence is beneficial to the child and adolescent cognitive, educational, and behavioral development.
We succeed just to see goats, but we don’t press Sophie too much, waiting for her to relax and do it when she is ready.
Just next to the animals you can find an organic shop where you can get very good goat cheese, vegetables, local ciders, and some toys, clothes, and souvenirs.
Toddler explore the French History
We visited shortly Sous-Marine Espadon submarine museum to buy tickets and check availability. Partly you can see the entrance and parking for submarines. Maybe it looks like it is not interesting for a toddler but actually, she enjoyed our visit to the museum which you will see in my next story.
While we were checking availability and purchasing the tickets, Sophie was exhausted and she took a nap on Axel’s shoulder. That is how we handle kids’ needs 😊.
We purchased tickets and felt a bit hungry. It was time to go home, but Sophie woke up and saw a park with a bouncy castle. Light rain started but her wish for the bouncy castle was stronger, and that is how we end up at the park for another half an hour.
Family French Dinner And Hometime
I love the home atmosphere, moments of cooking, drinking wine or tea, chatting, and playing with Sophie. She is soo a cute little creature, full of positive energy and joy. That is the time when I feel great to be alive and fortunate.
What makes you happy and grateful? Please share your thoughts with me, I would really like to know.
